GVPT770 Seminar in American Political Institutions

This is the core institutions seminar in American politics. The course surveys the primary literature in the field and addresses substantively significant topics related to the study of political institutions in the American context.

GVPT622 Quantitative Methods For Political Science

Introduction to quantitiative methods of data analysis, with emphasis on statistical methods and computer usage. Measures of association, probability, correlation, linear regression estimation techniques, introductory analysis of variance, and use of package computer programs.

GVPT700 Scope and Method of Political Science

Required of all Ph.D. candidates. A seminar in the methodologies of political science, and their respective applications to different research fields. Interdisciplinary approaches and bibliographical techniques are also reviewed.

What can I say, I enjoy my nostalgia with a hint of humiliation and a dash of ego. Blame it on the genes.

I'm posting my application content with the intent that Google finds it and through Google people if/when they need an example of a real-life application. I think it's standard orthodoxy to see what someone else has done as a first step, and finding consolidated content like this was way too hard when I tried. More grad students should share this information.

Reading it now, it comes off surgical. I can already see a host of changes I'd make. This was the best in its time, though.

I liked the topic and learned a lot. There are plenty of mistakes and typos, and my tendency to babble shines through, but it was the first research paper I'd written in years. Ship it!

Math: 680, 70th percentile
Verbal: 630, 90th percentile

These aren't that important, but application results next to undergraduate performance and courses taken could help as one of many inputs into choosing schools to apply to.

Nothing that fascinating here. In fact, not all of the schools I applied to required a resume. This format has worked out well for me, though, keeping in mind that it's tough to judge the effectiveness of something like this.
